I think these boards take quite a bit of power. Trying to power my C099-f9p with an older USB port I can get one board to boot up but not two. Even with just one board running It seems to be on the flakey side. U-blox provides an extra power connection that is labeled 5V-12V. The boards like the extra power. Somewhere I read it will withstand 16V. I bought a buck converter for the rover and a wall wart for the base but may not need the buck converter.

P.S. I think also think a usb c would be plenty.
