Hydroxychloroquine is 40% "less toxic". Sounds like it might be a nasty drug and maybe only considered in very severe cases???

"Prolonged or over dosage can still cause poisoning." May be one of those drugs you only want if you absolutely have to have it to survive. Neuropathy and central nervous system damage. Yuck.
