I think summer with more sun and higher temperatures is more likely to be our savior.

John

Yes, but given the state we are in and how vulnerable we are to so many problems, summer might be too late. I mentioned my dad. My memories of the 30s were from conversations I had with him. No one alive has a clue what that would be like today. The one phrase that has stuck in my mind from my dad about the 30s was that THERE WAS NO OPPORTUNITY.

What I'm finding interesting these days - even more than normal - is reading Martin Armstrong's blog.

https://www.armstrongeconomics.com/blog/

This is a guy who was famous and hugely successful in the 80s and 90s. He would not go along with the NY bankers in their schemes and they used the crooked NY courts to put him in prison. They tried to kill him there. He survived and forced them to release him after he was on the verge of taking the case to the Supreme Court. If they would have lost, they would have lost the ability to do that to any other people they wanted. Now, he is back and has built his business up once again. He genuinely enjoys visiting with people like us. I had the opportunity to visit with him several times in the early to mid 90s. Then - or now - I've never known him to be a conspiracy type person. No tin-foil hat needed. Over the years I have been impressed at how often he was right when everything else we read was saying the opposite. In his blog lately, he wonders - and that is the right word - about this panic being orchestrated. The grab for control seems to be from Europe, where he has been saying for a very long time that there was an imminent financial crisis. Always remember the saying - never let a good crisis go to waste.

Anyway, the blog is a good way to spend some time while thinking about what is going on all around us.
