Wife just fixed a whole bag of pintos for my MIL in the Instant Pot pressure cooker. I ask Carloynn if she was going to rinse them multiple times and she said no. She just soaked them over night and pressure cooked them. So I guess the in laws will just have to suffer the consequences. :-) They were pretty much mush so she cooked the H out of them. Sealed them up in individual portion vacum bags so her elderly parents can use them as needed. She ends up cooking lots of meals for them and prepares them for their freezer so when the MIL does not feel up to cooking they can still have hot meals. MIL has no teeth (and does not eat with her false teeth - go figure) so stuff has to be pretty tender.

Yes, it seems it is always something. I have given up trusting any official guidelines without verification.
