| 50 weeks at 70 hours works out to around $24 an hour.
Of course in trucking there are hours logged, hours put in and hours away from home.
I have seen 3 drivers run together on the same run and all can have a different number of hours. It depends on interpretation of the rules.
I had one driver tell me if he parked out front where he could see the truck while eating he was on duty, as he was still responsible for the truck. Parked out of site he was off duty since if something happened to the truck he would not know about it.
My guess is we will go several years with some one in the truck but not driving. Just like auto steer in a tractor.
