Whether it will work or not try to take the upper road and be reasonable. Hopefully he can be reasoned with. Would be great if he would seek you out for advice and be a mentor. Yea, I’m probably dreaming but you might take that approach. Get the facts then tell him what he is facing with possible taxes. Maybe he just needs to sell it to you. Hopefully he’s not a wet behind the ears jerk and you can show him how good his future could be if he would let you work together and make his new found fortune a good long term investment for him.
