Like a prior poster mentioned, I don't think this thing has had time to go through probate and settle all claims against the estate. In other words, he may be going to inherit the land but I don't think he now owns this land. Well, maybe the land was deeded to him prior to the owners death. Your lawyer can easily check the county records and determine who actually owns the land.

Do you have a written lease and has this lease been recorded into the county records? If it is not recorded, you need to get it recorded into the county records before 8:10 am tomorrow. If you don't have a written lease or if the written lease is not recorded, you are probably in trouble. If you have a written lease that is recorded into the county records, you should not have any serious problems.
