Having both a dozer and a hoe, I’d pick dozer for clearing land if I only could have one. I’d buy a nice comfortable machine with a cab in the D6-7 range because you’re going to spend a lot of time in it. An excavator isn’t made to move material more than what it can reach. Ideally, you would push to the excavator and pile with it to burn as you’ll save a lot of dirt vs pushing stumps to a place to rot.
