Back to the OP.

Most or many companies have the same policy. Shipping address and address on the credit card must match. The company I work for had to change the address on the card we use. Too many orders were rejected because the card had the owners home address attached to it. For a while we just put his home address on the orders and UPS, USPS and fedex just brought the stuff to the shop. Advantage of living in a small town.

I had a credit card number “stolen” years ago and they wanted the items shipped to an address about 15 miles away, different zip code. The company it was ordered from rejected the order because of the mismatch. They called me on the number that was attached to the card.

That doesn’t excuse the company for not notifying you about canceling the order.
