tomah wi | Yes you are correct. I drove for FedUp ground for 5 yrs. At that time and now the company wanted to treat their independent contractors like employees that pay their own way. They would tell us where to buy tires get oil changed, where to go for repairs how to run our routes that we paid for ect.
Many of us would spend more that 12 hrs on duty during holidays (dot violation) at the time
Fed Ex ground is involved in many class action law suits from drivers due to company miss classifying them as contractors when the court says they are employees.
I personally have received 2 settlements form the class action cases. more are in progressing through court .
