I agree you likely won't loose as much as you think. How high are your death losses now, you don't sell them at all. What are your vet bills, straw, and labour.
Then there is the fact the calve born on grass get up and go, less stress, I bet you sell more total pounds, and the smaller calves should be at a higher $ per pound.
