nw MN | I was up against a short window 2 falls ago to get some tillage done to corn stalks. The neighbor offered to run his kwik-till over a quarter for me so I said go for it. He uses his in the spring ahead of the drill and it leaves a really nice smooth seed bed. It really tore up the stalks and moved a surprising amount of dirt. It doesn't take any compaction out like a chisel would, but deep tillage is probably out of the question for you anyway, and the frost will probably do a lot of work at least shattering the compaction a little bit. Pic is one pass over freshly combined corn stalks. I am sure you could plant right into it, especially if the stalks were overwintered.
