As stated already the pressure is just a read out on the Gen A DirectCommand systems.
On the newer Ag Leader ISO Liquid system the pressure sensor is or can be used. Pressure fall-back is the option you can check during the setup, it's been a while since I went through it but it can control rate by flow at higher volumes and by pressure an lower IIRC.
