The only way you're going to make much
(or any for that matter
) with 50 hd of feeder pigs is to sell them to 40+ buyers.
Even if you buy the pigs at a discount vs a large group, you're going to have the odds stacked against you to compete against hogs fed inside a confinement building if you're going to try to sell them to a packer at whatever price they're offering on that day.
Could very well be worth the cost for the education, as long as one learns from their mistakes.
