are pretty cheap, as compared to the cost of production. Have to raise as many bushels as possible, just like pigs. What percent of cost of production is the feed? What are the costs of production for the other inputs of a fat hog? Wager to say that feed is less than 50% of the cost of production in a modern hog set-up? I mean, these guys are paying $40/space just for the finishing end? At two turns a year, that's $20/head in building costs just for a fat hog? That don't include any cost for farrow to wean. Feed costs don't seem so out of line to me as compared to the other production costs associated.
