Subject: RE: I know a fellow who does something like that.

He raises smaller groups of slaughter hogs and holstein steers for private customers who want to know who raises their meat. They're not organic nor even non-GMO just hand raised. He has maybe 80 hogs and 30-50 steers at any given time.
What makes his system special is that his customers pay him so much per every two weeks or month and at the end of the period get their hog or steer in boxes, freezer ready. He builds his profit in at the very beginning. And customers who might ordinarily not be able to come up with the price of steer at one time can afford the price spread out over some weeks or months. In return, he's got the pig sold and knows what his profit will be practically before he's bred the sow.
Is he making millions? No. but he's happy doing what he likes to do and more power to him, I say.
