Mid Michigan | Every day in cold winter I go out and start my vehicle for 5-10 minutes just to make sure it's going to start when I need it to. I do this about a hour or two before I leave for work. Just got done doing it. I don't need to find out I need a battery or a charge 5 minutes before I need to leave. I believe it also lubes up the transmission and gets it warmed up a bit and gets oil to the top of the engine and ready to go. I don't want to go from 0 degrees to 60 mph in 15 seconds. Wash the cylinders and dry them out? Not hardly in a modern fuel injected engine. I don't reapeat the process through the day though. Once it's been run that's enough heat in the engine until the next morning. | |
