Subject: RE: Idling/starting throughout day in cold

Essex County, extreme SW Ontario,
What is 'heet", some sort of foofoo magic potion?? Back to the OP, I would only bother starting the vehicle an hour or so before I needed it for something important, just to make sure it would start. For something like running errands just let it sit until you need it , hop in start it up and let it run long enough to clear the windows and head off. If it was extremely cold, say -20C for days on end I would be tempted to start it every couple days and let it idle for an hour or so just to maintain the battery but that's it. Heck all but one of our tractors sit in unheated barns all winter long and we don't start them until will start getting things out in April. Sure we run into the odd dead battery but a few minutes on the charger solves that.
