Subject: RE: New Product To Fix Worn Parallel Arms And Bushings

I have had several people ask about fixing the down pressure support arms on John Deere planters. If yours look like in the picture below we will be able to make them tight again and better that new. We should have these bushings in by the middle of March. These will be a hardened outer bushing that is installed in the support arm and a inner bushing that bolts on like the old ones.

We also now have kits to fix Martin row cleaners that use the 7/8" bushing.

We get several calls about 20" planters and the limited room to work on the support plates. Many are just removing the support plates to ream them to 11/16". Depending on how your planter is set up this could be a lot of work to remove things that are in your way. There is a 3/8" electric right angle drill sold at Menards and we have found an 11/16" drill bit with a 3/8" shank that may work for some. If you don't want to ream or drill the support plate our bushings can be installed with regular bolts in the existing holes but there would still be the same issue as before with the bolts being able to move in the holes. Call us if you have any questions.
