| You're talking about people who would have to work several years to earn what many farmers got for a soybean payment. Not to mention ARC-CO, PLC, etc. They also can't write off mama's Tahoe as a "farm vehicle." It's pretty hard to save up a big emergency fund if you're a young person with a couple kids, a mortgage, car payment, student loans, etc., and making $40k per year at an entry-level government job. Not saying they shouldn't be able to hand a missed paycheck, but I don't think guys cashing five and six figure checks from the government without ever working there should say a whole lot. | |
