Looks like a good idea. I was thinking there was one bolt on a 2600 unit that wouldn't fit through the hole from the inside? Cant 100% say for sure now though.
Your right there are some planters that have to use a special bolt. The early Kinze and 7000 JD both need these bolts in the bottom arms where they connect to the row unit. These holes in the row unit only would also have to be drilled to 11/16 or 3/4 because the reamers would be to long.
