what older receiver are you referring to? glonass means more sats. is that absolutely necessary? that is kind of a region specific question.
older gps paired up with digifarm work fine as far as i can see, though i would not give up x-fill for anything so if your using a pro700 i would see if you could find a reasonably priced 372.
