Dairies can be very hard on the ground. In a bad year they can ruin the ground for years.
Please explain? Cropping ground and making profit is touch, I agree, but any livestock farmer using ground to produce milk, beef, eggs, pork and then turn a profit, is quite a bit tougher IMO. A livestock farmer will be out of business a lot quicker than a cropper if they abuse the land they use. A crop insurance check doesn't go far if you're using it to buy feed that you couldn't produce. |
