WC Mn/Dakotas | On sandy ridges ill go down to low teens where low 20s would still have been a 0. Thats the part where if it doesnt rain every week, it is likely to burn up and your not going to hit a home run every year in every zone. But need to calculate the risk as much as possible.
But in the valley type fields, we dont have sand ridges. We have a difference in pH, sol salts, and sodium that make plants struggle for enough water/nutrient uptake very much like a sandy ridge in many ways. As seen in this fields soil sample. One soil type but sol salts and na% go right with the zones.
I got nearly all my bean acres planted vrt this year as well. 3rd year for some, first year for most. 100k-250k extreme spreads. Some guys willing to drop pop some but not that low right away. Every year we get confidence to go lower on the good zones. | |
