Subject: RE: Varaiable Rate Corn Seeding

Red River Valley
That is awesome Goose please let us know the final results. I have been doing the same thing the past 3-4 years here in the southern end of the valley and have seen my yields blow out previous top end field averages. I am a firm believer that we plant way too high pops in corn and our yields suffer. In my experience these corn hybrids flex way more than advertised.

One if the nice things about the variable rate is that the stalks and ears are consistently larger and easier to harvest, I hate nubin ears. FWIW I plant with a yield goal of 6 bu / 1000 seeds planter and have averaged 7-8 bu/ 1000 seeds the past 2 years.
