Subject: AgLeader Insight vs JD GS2 2600???

Chebanse, IL.....

I don't mind starting a color war here. Say what you think...as long as it's factual & not just heresay. As always, personal experiences are more valid than something you heard. But, you can always quantify "heresay" by asking if it's true. Nothing wrong w/that.

We're well familiar w/AL Insight. Have them on combine yield monitor, tractor autopilot, planter monitor, NH3 monitor, liquid N applicator, & sprayer applications. We have & use AutoSwath. We use it for planting (TC air clutches), spraying, NH3 & liquid applications, & combining. I really like the "reports" section of Insight. We use both WAAS & RTK.

However, local JD dealer tells us that GS2 is just as good & will do all of that stuff & more....in JD tractors, but that's acceptable presently. I know almost nothing about more modern G* stuff. We had it a few yrs back w/just the brown box G* display in combine yield monitor. We felt yield accuracy was terrible then & proved that when we switched to AgLeader.

So, in anyone's opinion...what will GS2 2600 do that AL Insight cannot, or vice-versa? Combines, tractors, & sprayers. Can you bolt a GS2 in a non-JD atv for soil testing?

Here's a couple of things that I think GS2 will not do:

Reports (any application item). Comes on pdf right from Insight. Neat! I use them frequently

Allow varieties as a background screen on yield monitor. Seems GS2 has to actually be in the crop & harvesting?

Please feel free to use email link if you'd like. It's in my profile. I think I answer all emails. Thanks.
