| I remember the meltdown of IH well in 1984. It caused my Dad some serious issues as a lot of people in the area we lived in at the time worked for IH or John Deere and hurt his business significantly.
I met Brooks McCormick a handful of times a number of years later and even though we never discussed the downfall of IH I still wonder what he thought about that. He retired from IH in 1980 if I recall correctly. I'm sure there were some hard feelings since that company had been in his family over a 100 years. Brooks was rather an interesting person in a way that only the very wealthy can be. I believe he passed away in 2006.
