Soybeans from South America do not get "cheaper" until March 2014.. some 2.5 months from now.
The sales on the books here in the US were bought at cheaper values.. and until March.. they could only cancel and replace with more expensive beans which may take several weeks of waiting in line to load.
So if they do not take the booked beans.. they may not be able to replace them until May at landed values to China.. that's a long time to hold your bean consuming breath.
So take the US beans now.. OR Cancel.. wait in line.. pay demurrage and more shipping costs to get beans... later.
Granted.. once the combines start to roll in January.. the market in South America will under cut US values.. question is.. what will US values be by then...?? lower.. or higher...?? |
