Thing about planting strip till headlands last is your planting in compacted tire tracks sometimes, then your not, then you are again. Not a great way to plant corn, i'd rather plant it all at perfect depth and drive over it later. Planting first will also smooth the headlands out some. I always though with strip till that would work pretty good to plant them last until relative pointed this out to me.

Turning a MFD tractor with 12 row planter in 24 rows. That right their is going to be tight. We have done it but you plan on putting wheel in grass every time. I've went to 90' headlands, lot nicer.
