From the tax angle, if the owner of the burnt combine had the machine insured wouldn't he have to declare the amount received from ins. as income or a Capital gain if he didn't use that money to purchase another machine? Not positive on that & can't get ahold of my sister who is a CPA for an answer. But would be something to consider
