Republic OH (NC OH) | i farm 275 acres of corn and beans. i bought my last combine in 1999 it was a 1986 cih 1620. i paid $25000 for it. keep the heads, 1020 & 843, from my 715 that i ran for 10 years. lets see..... $25/acre X 275 =$6875 X 8 years (including up coming year) =$55000 for custom harvesting. 55000 - 25000 = 30000. money spent on repairs and maintenance = $15027.56. does not include fuel. but includes grain head and corn head maintenance. i see myself ahead of the game by having my own combine.
