SW Manitoba | Russ, what I have found to work best is the guy who does the welding also measures the hole and does the cutting. Then there is only one person to blame when the pipe doesn't fit. Haha. For the last few years we have been using two pieces of square tubing (a piece of 1" inside a 1-1/4" and fastening the body of a tape measure to the outside tube and the end to the inside tube. When you slide the inside tube out you get a better measurement on the round pipe. We have had a lot fewer gaps since we started using this rig. | |
