Aberdeen MS
I think in our area paul, there are more acres in CRP that are low lands rather then HEL land.

I can think right off the top of my head 3 farms of at least 160 acres or more that was dumped into CRP, tile lines plugged and the whole works was reverted back into natural wet lands.

Those farms, I think it would take an act of Congress (at least in Sibley Co) to get the tile going again. Go to Gaylord and start talking wet land updating with tile, well, the reception isn't very good. But then, anything to do with that NRCS office is like pulling lion teeth without novocaine.

The other majority of acres that were put into CRP is along the ditch banks. Only thing holding that ground back from being as productive as the rest of the field it goes through is the cleanings/diggings from 10 - 15 feet deep. Most on this board would give their eye teeth for that type of ground and we call it poor ground.
