Yoosta B - 12/5/2012 02:08 Beg to differ with tomosakis and with RSSS. First, tomosakis, your slab home idea would require double the roofing and take up land for the future addition. Double the concrete work, too. More siding, etc. And, with a big garage and only 1000 sq. ft. of living space, it could look like you built a garage and then the house was an afterthought. Sorta "Tail Waggin' the Dog"... You do make a good point of planning ahead for that future addition. I think RSSS and others have missed the fact that by combining the three gable dormers into one shed dormer, the divider wall between the Master Bedroom and the Living Room will run into that larger dormer. Still very do-able, but with three windows in the dormer. I suggest one wider window in the center flanked by two smaller ones, spaced out according to the thickness of said wall and DON'T forget the interior casing of the windows! It might look a little awkward from the inside, with windows crammed in the corners of the bedroom and the living room, but it would save framing cost and make the interior spaces more liveable.
