IMHO it would make sense to plan for converting the ground level into living space later. You might add on a garage then.
I also do not see much benefit from the 3 little dormers instead of 1 larger one. The bathroom needs to be next to the bedrooms. Choose the best insulation available. The open staircase may be drafty though as mentioned, but putting a door upstairs will cost useable room.
