Brandon, I think what you're missing (not that I'm right) is that for the last five years we have grown accustom to lower temperatures and higher ear weights. Don't look for differences between 05-09, look at their similarity compared to the examples given for 2004 and 1995. It is easy for the usda (and all of us for that matter) to miss ear weights if they only look at the last five year history. To spot some trends- like this one- we are being encouraged to look further back into history to see what might happen again.
