 Central Alberta | The old Maytag seemed to be using the philosophy of the John Deere Model D; "Build it to last forever and you will have customers forever." I don't think that's the way they build them anymore.
Short term thinking was the killer. Stupidity on the board of directors assumed that if you make them too well, you won't sell enough of them. Wrong. Brands that can live up to a reputation for reliability have always prospered over the years. Think: Toyota. | |
