Concerning matching the BAUD rates, this is good information but fortunately not a problem with the Insight.
On startup, the Insight will do its best to "mate up" with the GPS it is attached to. It will progress through various combinations of BAUD rates etc. and work its way down to try and "mate up".
If one starts up an Insight without GPS attached and watches the GPS screen, you can see the Insight attempting to "mate up" with a GPS. It will try this process for quite a while before giving up.
