Don't know about other states, but in Ohio, last i knew, a CAFO (confined animal feeding operation) was any operation OVER 1000 Animal Units. An Animal Unit is essentially one beef cow. A dairy cow is about 1.1 AU's. It takes considerably more than 1000 head of hogs to equal 1000 AU's.
But that's in Ohio.....
