| As a 67 year old guy from the mid west I remember hearing about the eruption on Mount St Helens and seeing photos on tv. I don't really remember the changes in weather in our area shortly afterward.
In 2011 thanks to some friends in Portland OR my wife and I had the experience of visiting the area and the "visitor center" at Mount St Helens. It remains as one of the most interesting places we have ever been to.
I'm sure those of you in that region that lived through it have many stories. I'm also sure a lot of folks who followed the event much closer than I have better recall on what all transpired.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit the site and read all the history in the visitor center I would highly recommend it.
Fascinating stuff.
