Lancaster, OH | Not totally a John Burns approved diet--"Keto Similar"--but it's gone well.
In 2005/6 I lost 50# in a year going from about 220-170. I was hungry and got really grumpy. I did that by cutting calories.
This time, I did not weigh to begin with because I wanted to be healthier without putting pressure on weight. I'd guess that I started at or around 210. I'm now bouncing around 160-165.
I cut out fast food, went to a low carb diet with more eggs than I thought I'd have, non-starchy vegetables, meats and cheeses. I use a protein shake at times for a fast meal (GNC 25 shakes). I am still eating some ice cream at night and will still have watermelon and cantaloupe which has some sugar. None of those is in great quantity.
Chaffles have been a really nice addition to cover the need for bread on occasion. I like a couple with butter and sugar free syrup some mornings or as a bun substitute when I just really want a cheeseburger.
I would not have imagined that it would have been this easy.
