NW Indiana | This might be the most bearish I have seen this site. Seems everyone is depressed. Talking with other local farmers it seems to be a theme. There isn't anyone talking about a possible drought, exports are in the tank and only going to get worse, the decade of doom is nearing, inputs are way to high and the list goes on. I wasn't on Nat in 2005(not sure if nat existed) but I would guess things were very similar after many years of just getting by. All of this and I am over here thinking a trade deal is going to get done that will be huge for US ag, china is going to start ramping up an ethanol program, new farm bill just added 1.5 million acres to crp, in general inputs have come down to levels that much of a run in prices would be very profitable, interest rates are on the rise which I think is actually good for AG. I'm upbeat, either I am an idiot(likely) or fade NAT. | |
