| Well, let me speak for myself. I'm a realist. Not whining , not complaining, not jealeous, not crabby etc. A realist. Lived long enough to see enough. Milked cows , got out just before the dairy buy out, then finished hogs, got out just before fats went to single digits. Prolly be planting corn, beans, and wheat until the day I die.
Basic human behavior never changes, thus the reason for cycles in business. When times are good little thought is given to moderation, full speed ahead baby , then comes the reset. It's just reality.
Will it be different this time? Why would it be , it never has .
That's fine to be optimistic as long as you're not blindsided to reality when it strikes.
Unless your holding a bunch of old crop, a drought never seems to fill the bank account like a good solid crop and a decent price does.
Ethanol is in trouble, with the shale production and so many waivers.
There is a bigger battle being fought with China than just trade. I wouldn't get too hopeful about a massive trade deal.
Unless a new demand base is found I'm not too hopeful.
Dad always said "Hope for the best but prepare for the worst"
