What are your guys thoughts on hog manure from a finisher vs retail fertilizer? Which do you prefer if you do not own any barns or have any manure rights agreements?
We have had pretty even results between the two. I have always thought hog manure did a little bit better. We run one 1,200 head finisher barn operation. Not big on that end but we are 3,000+ acres on the corn, and soybean.
Where are costs going between the two? Are application costs eating up the value of hog manure from a barn if you were to build a new one?
