Subject: Propane or Diesel for irrigation?

Amherst WI
I need 2 engines to pump with this summer. Most people in the area are using diesel or electric if it is avalible. Both of my pumping sites are remote and electric is not available, yet anyway. I will be pumping out of ponds so I don't need much power. I have priced out diesel and propane engines. What should I go with? Both of these include the same pump.

The diesel is a 4045T JD for about $12,500ish
The Propane is a GMC 4.3 V6 for $10,250ish

I am personlly leaning toward the gas motor but you guys know more about these than I do.
I also have diesel locked in a $2.37 through fall and propane is about $1.50 right now here.

I will be pumping 500 hrs per year on the one and about half that on the other.
