Subject: EZ guide 500 to PF3000

Dodge County, WI
Goal: get GPS signal to the combine PF3000 for yield mapping. We now have EZ500 in a tractor permanent-like and want to leave the cables there.

I have searched the site and have a quick question:
From some of tedbear's posts I gather I can use a "common serial extension" to connect the 9pin connectors at the back of the EZ500 and the COM1 of the PF3000.
Questions...
1.)If I understand correctly, this will be all I need to get power to the EZ500, AND communicate GPS positions to the PF3000, right? Or will I need to get a Null Modem Cable and run a separate power cable? (I don't want to have to do this)

2.) Can I just go to local electronics store for this cable? (is it a common cable)

3.) Can I use a regular Coaxial cable for the antennae and go full out cheap?

Thanks in advance

Ben
