Subject: RE: Minorities in Ag

NC Iowa
The point: People used to tell me older folks would treat me differently in the ag world as a salesman. I was saying they were wrong, with exception of a few instances, one being with a younger generation.

The point: Here in Iowa, I find very few non-Caucasian individuals involved in farming itself or in sales.

The point: I'm not trying to draw attention to myself with my user name and perhaps you see it as contradicting the points I'm trying to convey. I added to another post above about how racial descriptions are not all bigoted or unnecessary.

Do you believe my username AsianFarmer is "playing the race card" and asking for special treatment? I'll assume yes so my definition of playing the race card is using my ethnicity to gain an advantage over others or to use it as an excuse as to why I failed, deserved extra attention, etc. I feel my username does none of those but simply means I'm an Asian farmer.

How did you take it?
