I agree with what you said, definitely nicer then cutting wood and having a wood fire that isn’t consistent and has to be constantly tended too. I bought a pallet of pellets for 180 bucks, I don’t think I could cut wood for that. I was just surprised by how much smaller the newer models were with a lot more capacity. We shut ours off at night so runs about 12 hours a day and using about 40 lbs. basement drops into the 50’s over night but upstairs stays warm.
We have central air but the upstairs has 8 inches of insulation in walls and 22” in the ceiling so the furnace hardly runs and basement never gets enough heat.
