EC SoDak | I haven’t been one to buy the widespread rains a week into June for a major sell off. But, if memory serves, we were dropping during planting as usual and then Trump tweeted that a deal was in the works with China and they would buy all the commodity grains we could produce. Then yes, we got some rain and as expected the markets dropped a bit. Then came the leaked report that tariffs would be put and place and we dropped quite a bit since.
I don’t think it’s all Trump/Tariff talk, but I do believe it’s a chunk of it. With that said, things like tariffs on US soy and not Brazil before all this is/was a bunch of hogwash, I just wish they had a better way than a trade war to try and fix the issue. | |
