A person needs to ask around and sift out the good from the bad, every company has at least one lemon. But sometimes if held onto long enough, the lemons become valuable due to rarity. V8 IHs, JD 8010/8020 4wds, D21 Allis, HFWA JDs, etc.
Blind brand loyalty is also a killer, a dealer that can have it fixed and out the door within the day and millions of $ of parts in stock seems to take priority over the equipment actually being worth a damn on this site. I want something that does not require a dealer to operate, and has good aftermarket support and minimal proprietary parts.
The general drift on this site is a 8630 JD needs to be bought over a 895 Versatile for drawbar work because JD has more parts available and a closer dealer. | |
